If it's in your vault, it's in your Emergency Kit.

Security

Protected before,
during, and after.

The print flow is built around the assumption that the document leaving the printer is the most sensitive thing you'll create today. Every step reflects that.

Password-verified

Your primary password is required every time you print. No exceptions, no bypass, no "remember for 24 hours". Invalid attempts are rejected on the spot.

Date-stamped

Every printout includes the exact date and time it was generated. You always know which copy is the most current — and which one to shred.

Native printing

Uses your device's built-in print system — AirPrint on iOS, the system print sheet on Mac. Nothing is sent to external servers. The document is rendered locally and handed straight to your printer.

PDF option

Save to a USB stick, encrypted external drive, or off-site storage instead of paper. Same archival format, digital file. Same password verification.

No cloud storage

The Emergency Kit is generated locally and never uploaded anywhere. It exists only where you put it — on the page in your hand, the PDF on your USB, or the printer queue you trust.

Where to store it

Treat it
like cash.

The Emergency Kit is only as safe as the place you keep it. Pick somewhere you'd trust with a passport, a deed, or a stack of bills.

Bank safe deposit box

Fireproof, secure, and physically separate from your home. The classic choice for irreplaceable documents.

Fireproof home safe

Fast access in an emergency. Pair with a fire-rated bag for documents you might need at 3am.

Locked drawer

Convenient when you reprint often. A locked filing cabinet with a key you control beats a drawer you don't.

Encrypted USB drive

Save the kit as a PDF to an encrypted USB drive and store off-site. Same protection, smaller footprint.

"Print and store in a secure location where you will find it in an emergency. In addition to a hard copy, you can also print to a PDF file on a USB stick or removable hard drive which you also store in a secure location." — FROM ZZPASS, INSIDE THE APP
Keep it current

Reprint anytime,
unlimited.

Passwords change. Accounts come and go. Your Emergency Kit should stay current — date stamps make it easy to identify the most recent copy and retire the old ones.

  • Reprint as often as you need
  • Date stamp on every page
  • Shred the old copy when the new one is filed
  • Keep a paper copy and a PDF — both stay in sync
Unlimited prints with ZZPass Premium$2.99/mo or $29.99/yr.
Both platforms

Works on every
Apple device.

The same archival format, the same password verification, the same QR code — printed from whatever device is closest to hand.

  • iOS & iPadOS: Live preview, print via AirPrint or save as PDF
  • macOS: Native print dialog with the system print sheet
  • Same professional format on both platforms
  • Same password verification step — no shortcuts
Use cases

When you'll be
glad you printed.

Insurance is invisible until you need it. Here are the moments where the Emergency Kit goes from a piece of paper in a drawer to the most useful thing you own.

Lost device

Phone gone, Mac dead.

Your phone is gone. Your Mac won't boot. Open the safe, scan the QR code on a borrowed device, and you're back into your account in seconds.

Account recovery

Forgotten primary password.

Forgot your primary password after a long trip? Your printed kit has everything you need to get back in — including the password itself, kept somewhere only you can reach.

Family emergency

Someone you trust needs in.

If something happens to you, a trusted family member can use the Emergency Kit to access bills, accounts, and digital assets — exactly what you'd want them to find.

Travel

Devices stolen abroad.

Traveling internationally? Leave a printed backup at home. If your devices are lost or stolen, you have a safe path home that doesn't depend on what's in your bag.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Does printing send my data anywhere?
No. The document is generated locally on your device and printed through your operating system's native print system — AirPrint on iOS, the system print sheet on Mac. Nothing is uploaded to ZZPass servers or anywhere else.
Is my password visible on the printout?
Yes. The Emergency Kit deliberately includes your primary password so you can recover your account without depending on memory. This is exactly why secure physical storage — a safe, a deposit box, a locked drawer — is essential.
Can someone print my vault without my password?
No. Your primary password must be entered and verified before every print. There is no bypass, no recovery shortcut, and no "remember for 24 hours" option. Invalid attempts are rejected on the spot.
Can I save it as a PDF instead of printing?
Yes. Use your device's "Save as PDF" option in the print dialog. We recommend saving to an encrypted USB drive or external storage you keep off-site — a digital backup that lives somewhere different from your laptop.
How often should I reprint?
Whenever you make significant changes — adding important new accounts, updating recovery info — or every few months as a routine. Date stamps on each page make it easy to retire old copies and keep just the most recent.
Is printing available on the free plan?
Emergency Kit printing is a Premium feature. ZZPass Premium is $2.99/month or $29.99/year and includes unlimited prints, full vault export, and every other Premium benefit.
